BUMC welcomes all, no matter your background, age, or life experiences. The doors of the church are always open as a sanctuary. We invite you to worship with us as well as participate in our numerous community outreach programs.
What are services like?
Every Sunday morning, BUMC has three worship services. At 9am in the Sanctuary, there is a traditional-style service with hymns and music provided by the music ministry. From 10-10:45am there is time to catch-up with friends upstairs in Fellowship Hall, with coffee and treats or a full breakfast. Our encounter contemporary service begins at 10:45am and is led by the encounter praise band in Fellowship Hall. At 11:30am there is an African-style service in the Sanctuary.
Each service, no matter its style, has music, prayer, and a sermon from one of our pastors.
Where should I park?
BUMC has two parking lots, and you can use either. The smaller lot between Noble Ave. and Brooklyn Blvd. usually fills up early, in which case the lot across the street always has enough space for all.
What about children?
Children can be brought to all services, and we regularly have a Children’s Moment when the kids come up front and get a special lesson. Sunday School is offered at the early and later services, and starts after the children’s moment, approximately 9:15am and 11:45am.
How should I dress?
We invite you to come as you are. In other words, come in what you feel comfortable worshiping in. We do not judge, but you might get compliments if you wear something particularly nice!
