BUMC members are sewing face masks for local hospitals

BUMC is looking for people who love to sew to join a group making face masks for local hospitals.

The North Memorial Hospitals as well as the Allina Health system are looking for donations of face masks, including hand-sewn masks. We know there are experienced sewers among our BUMC brothers and sisters. BUMC sewers will be working with one standard CDC-compliant face mask pattern, following specific fabric requirements. If you are interested, please check out this 3/25/20 Facebook post and get in touch with Lois. She will forward you all the information necessary to get you started. We also have some precut kits, which are also available for your use.

Because the church is closed, you can drop completed masks at Lois’ home and she and others will distribute them quickly. North Memorial is enthusiastically looking forward to receiving some as soon as possible .

For those of you who do not sew, donations toward the fabric and elastic would be most welcome. Checks can be made out to BUMC and please note that they are for COVID face masks.

Thank you so much.
