Dear BUMC, It is time to re-gather because the church has never closed! It is time we begin our plan to return to in-person worship at Brooklyn United Methodist Church. Bishop David Bard, interim Bishop of the Minnesota Annual Conference of the UMC has moved our Conference phased re-gathering plan to Phase Orange with one major stipulation – that we limit each worship service to 50 people (in October when we were in stage Orange we were limited to 100 people in the church at one time). Our Trustees and Church Council have prayerfully looked over the available date and decided we will move to Stage Orange and begin worship with a limit of 50 people at each service starting Sunday, February 7th.
On the 7th we will re-gather for worship in our Sanctuary at 9am and 11:30am with 50 people at each service. Our online services will always be available on our streaming site, website, Facebook, YouTube, and our Ministry One app at 9am & 10:45am. We will be going on Facebook Live (African Contemporary Page of BUMC) during our 11:30am service. Our 9am Drive-up option will continue, as well as our 10am phone service (877-447-2862).
We will be strictly following our Pandemic Protocols for those attending worship and since limited to only 50 people at a time we need everyone attending to pre-register for worship. Please, if attending our 9am or 11:30am service, register online (link on next page) for the service you are planning on attending. If you do not register you may be turned away at the door because of limited seating at each worship service. The possibility exists that if we need room for more than 50 people we may add another service at a future date.
If you do not feel comfortable worshipping inside, please continue to worship online, by phone, or through our drive-up service. If you feel sick, have been exposed to someone with COVID, tested positive, or are a member of a health at-risk group, please do not register or participate in our re-gathering services. Our services are limited to 50 people each, and as we move through our phase plan, as more and more people are vaccinated, we will increase the number of worshippers, but only when and if it is safe to do so.
Again, we re-gather Sunday, Feb. 7th, with two in-person services limited to 50 worshippers at 9am and 11:30am. Please register below if you would like to worship with us.
